Yessss I am back....I know, I know, it took me a while but I finished my master (applause please) and I moved away from my beloved Maastricht, but to be honest you never really leave Maastricht! Anyway, settling down can take a while, but now I am back with great ideas, projects and a lot of tasty recipes for my beloved Dutch and international audience!
Today its getting a bit frosty, so put on your snugly warm winter outfit and let me introduce an astonishing Dutch guy to you with a mind-boggling big dream of a pretty cool challenge.
The guy you can see below is Jop, a really amazing, smart and honest person with a magnificent character and a big heart for nature and its adventures.

That Dutch people are somehow travel addicted is nothing new, at least not for me. During my time in Maastricht I barely met one Dutch person that didn't have an impressive travel history....born in Africa, raised in Arabia, lived in India, speaking Chinese....ok, ok I get it, Germans are boring!
Anyway, Dutch people have this amazing drive to discover the world and are always searching for the next big adventure. While nearly all of them feel attracted to warmer countries, I was surprised by Jop's idea to join the Fjällräven Polar Challenge 2015, a dog sledge adventure through the arctic tundra from Norway to Swedish Lapland.
Only 20 people will be selected to face the challenge of the cold, of course guided by a famous dog sledge driver, an outdoor survival expert and hundreds of Alaskan Huskies.
Even though I am more the "safe" travel type, I always admire people that are as fearless and curious as Jop. For him it's not only a quick idea to attend this trip, he really wants to learn from it and follow his passion.

As you can see Jop doesn't seem to be very afraid of anything. Already by thinking of jumping out of an airplane I feel the need to go flat and kiss the ground I am lying on. Anyway, I think that so much honest love for nature and Jop's genuine adventurous spirit has to be rewarded.
To join the Fjällräven Polar Challenge 2015 Jop needs some support from all over the world.
Below you can find his lovely video and the link where you can vote for him to make his frosty dream come true.
